RECITALS

Recitals are scheduled periodically throughout the studio year. Because of the many family and church activities surrounding major holidays such as Christmas and Easter, studio recitals will NOT be scheduled at these times.

All students are strongly encouraged to perform in recitals, but not required.  If a student does choose to perform, it is expected that he or she will remain for the entire recital unless previously arranged with the instructor.

FEDERATED MUSIC CLUB "GOLD CUP" FESTIVAL

The Devils Lake Music Club sponsors the Federated Music Club Gold Cup Festival in February.  They are adjudicated by a qualified judge, and are given a rating of Superior, Excellent, Very Good, or Fair.  They are also awarded points according to their rating, 5 being the highest you can achieve.  For every 15 points earned, students will receive a gold cup that increase in size as they accumulate more points.  

Students are encouraged to perform, but not required.

If a student does choose to perform:

• The student is responsible for registration fees.
• The instructor places the student in appropriate level.
• The student memorizes two pieces within that level, one from a preselected list and one piece of their choosing.  Students are given these pieces well in advance of Festival to give them adequate time to rehearse.
• The student performs their pieces for the adjudicator. Depending on COVID, students from other studios may or may not be present.
